Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we get asked most - can't find what you need? Just get in touch.

How much does scaffolding hire cost?

It depends on the size and type of job - a small residential tower starts from a few hundred pounds, while larger commercial wraps are priced after a site survey. Every quote is free and with no obligation, so the best way to get an accurate figure is to get in touch with a few details about your project.

How long does it take to erect scaffolding?

Most residential jobs are erected within a day. Larger commercial or heritage projects can take longer depending on access, height and design complexity - we will always give you a clear timeframe as part of your quote.

Do I need planning permission or a licence for scaffolding?

If scaffolding is entirely on your own property, you typically will not need permission. If any part of it needs to go on a public pavement or road, a licence from the local council is usually required - we can advise on this and help arrange it as part of the job.

How long can scaffolding stay up?

For as long as your project needs it. We agree a rough timeframe up front, and keep in touch throughout the hire period - if the job runs on longer than expected, just let us know and we will extend the hire.

Is your scaffolding insured and compliant?

Yes - we are fully insured, and all scaffolding is erected by CISRS-certified operatives to TG20:21 design standards.

What areas do you cover?

We are based in Dorset and cover the whole of Southern England, including Portsmouth, Winchester, Bournemouth, Basingstoke, Chichester, Salisbury and Reading. See our Areas Covered page for the full list - if you are just outside it, get in touch anyway.

Do you offer emergency scaffolding?

Yes - we provide a 24/7 emergency call-out service for storm damage, structural issues and urgent safety works. See our Emergency Scaffolding service for details.

Will scaffolding damage my garden, driveway or paving?

Our team takes care to protect surfaces wherever scaffolding is footed, using base plates and boards to spread the load. Let us know about any particularly delicate areas when you book and we will plan around them.
